As singer Gloria Estefan wrote in her song: “The land where you were born, you cannot forget, as it has your roots. Even if you leave it behind. You ache for the land, the land hits you straight in your soul, when you aren’t there". Dovecotes are part of the landscape in Palencia city, the province, and in the rest of the Castilian region. Mauri loves them, so this imperfect dovecote is a homage to the city of my childhood.
